Vice Chair and Programming Chair

Laura Beth MacPherson

Good Day! My name is Laura Beth and I am your 2019 Atlantic Conference on Public Administration Vice Chair. My main role in supporting this year’s conference is to develop and support an awesome and relevant program for delegates.  I believe conferences are an important way for professionals to come together to learn, discuss, debate, share and build partnerships. My hope is ACPA 2019 is an interactive, inclusive and innovative learning experience where all attendees are inspired and more informed to carry out their passion as public service professionals.

I am a second year MPA student at Dalhousie and am focusing my studies in the area of public health promotion.  My research interests are in the field of physical activity and population health, specifically how outdoor play opportunities support healthy overall development of children and youth in our communities.  From a management perspective, I am very interested in human resource management, and how we as a public service can provide an exciting career for the next generation of leaders in Atlantic Canada.

The Atlantic Conference on Public Administration is a chance for students and public service professionals to come together from across Atlantic Canada to celebrate and discuss the important work we do in our communities.  We encourage delegates to attend from all the different corners of the region and I hope everyone has an excellent and worthwhile conference experience.
